The only method I've found that staves off bitrot is burning files to CD-Rs. A CD-R is the only thing I've found that can actually hold a file. SD cards can't hold files, hard drives can't hold files, SSDs can't hold files, thumbdrives can't hold files, everything I own gets affected by bitrot.
