An applicant of any age will need to provide biometrics during the naturalization process. USCIS will ask you to undergo fingerprinting at an application support center in your area. You must appear at the appointment unless you give USCIS a good reason for not appearing.

Ensure you bring a valid identification document such as a passport, travel document or national ID card. Ensure your fingertips are free from any forms of decoration such as mehndi/henna, cuts, abrasions or other markings as these may affect your ability to provide acceptable finger scans.

Your total costs will be $32 plus the fingerprint rolling fee charged by the Live Scan Agency. Since the fingerprint-rolling fee varies widely among locations, you will want to review the cost along with the accepted methods of payment before going to the fingerprinting site.
