All locations on Earth that are north of the equator are in​ the Northern Hemisphere. This includes all of North America and Europe along with most of Asia, northern South America, and northern Africa. All points on Earth that are south of the equator are in the Southern Hemisphere.

Maps are created with one layer, but you can have up to 10. On your computer, sign in to My Maps. Open or create a map. You'll see your layers in the box on the left.

You may notice that some drop pins have a red or green circle while others have a small bag symbol. These symbols are used to show different venue types. A small bed is a hotel, while a shopping trolley marks a supermarket. A mortarboard hat marks schools and universities, and an open book marks a library.
