California candidates may access their unofficial results two business days after taking the exam, by purchasing Quick Results from Pearson VUE. You can order and pay for these results through your online Pearson VUE account, selecting the option “Quick Results” from the tool bar on the Home Page.

1) Locate a law enforcement agency (LEA) to complete fingerprint hard cards: Contact your local police or Sheriff's Department to inquire about having your fingerprints rolled. 2) Complete one fingerprint hard card (FD-258): Applicants must submit one completed hard card to the BRN. All fields must be completed.

You must meet educational requirements, pass a criminal background check, and pass the national licensing examination. To apply for licensure: Apply online or obtain an application packet and detailed instructions from the BRN website. Send your application to the BRN at least 6-8 weeks before graduation.

Your school may also send them directly. Electronic transcripts must be sent to brn.etranscripts@dca.ca.gov. If you attended a nursing program in another country, you will need to have your official transcripts sent to the Board by mail.
