The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities is a non-profit research organization and clinical facility dedicated to investigating the cause, treatment, and prevention of developmental disabilities.

DRNY is the federally and state-authorized Protection and Advocacy System and Client Assistance Program (P&A/CAP) for people with disabilities in New York State. DRNY provides free legal and advocacy services to individuals with disabilities.

Claimants must be out of work eight consecutive days to be eligible for benefits and provide medical documentation for the entire period of disability. The statutory benefit is 50% of the employee's average gross wages for the last eight weeks, up to a maximum of $170 per week.
