The color code shows you the speed of traffic on the road. Green: No traffic delays. Orange: Medium amount of traffic. Red: Traffic delays.

Green = no traffic delays on your route. Orange = middle-level traffic on your route. Red = heavy traffic delays causing speed of traffic to really slow down.

Red: There are two types of red: normal and dark red. If your maps have the traffic layer or selected Directions, red on the street means heavy traffic and could signify an accident or construction is causing it. Dark red means very heavy traffic.

On Google traffic maps, a green road line means fast traffic, orange. means medium traffic, and a red line means it's really slow.
