Paragraph on the Computer in 100 Words A computer is an electronic device that was discovered by Charles Babbage. He is known as the father of computers. There are various parts to a computer. The four major parts of a computer are the mouse, keyboard, monitor and CPU.

Later, in 1837 Charles Babbage proposed the first general mechanical computer, the Analytical Engine. The Analytical Engine contained an Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), basic flow control, and integrated memory and is Page 2 the first general-purpose computer concept.

With the internet and computers, long-distance communication has also become much more accessible for people worldwide. As computer technology progressed, simple consumer tasks like shopping, booking tickets, buying a new house, searching for schools, and looking for medical information became much more manageable.

While the conceptual idea behind a computer was developed in the 19th century, the first electronic computer was developed in the 1940s. Early computers used mechanical relays and vacuum tubes, which were replaced by transistors and later by integrated circuits, which led to the microprocessors we use today.
