Founded in 1891, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is consistently hailed as one of the greatest orchestras in the world.

Participation in the Civic Orchestra is a part-time commitment, which allows ensemble Members to pursue additional educational and professional opportunities on their own outside of the program. Each year, Civic Regular Members receive a stipend that is paid bi-weekly and intended to offset living expenses.

Many patrons wear business attire or casual business attire. We encourage you to wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. For the benefit of all patrons and performers, we ask that you refrain from using strong perfume and cologne.
