A jewel in the crown of America's classical music scene, The Cleveland Orchestra has been named “America's finest” by The New York Times and counted among the world's top 10 orchestras by Gramophone.

Touring expanded in the following decades, with Cleveland's first tour to Australia and New Zealand (1973), and South America and Mexico (1975), along with increasingly frequent visits to Europe's musical capitals and fes vals, as well as regular concert tours across the United States and into Canada.

The orchestra's season remains 52 weeks and size remains 100 members. Musicians will receive raises each year of the contract. Base salary will rise from $135,096 (2017-2018) to $143,364 by the 2020-2021 season.

Anything that makes you feel comfortable is fine. Most people will be wearing business clothes or slightly dressy casual clothes, but you'll see everything from khakis to cocktail dresses. Some people enjoy dressing up and making a special night of it.
