1) Locate a law enforcement agency (LEA) to complete fingerprint hard cards: Contact your local police or Sheriff's Department to inquire about having your fingerprints rolled. 2) Complete one fingerprint hard card (FD-258): Applicants must submit one completed hard card to the BRN. All fields must be completed.

Private Security applicants are required to submit fingerprints to DPS as part of a substantially complete application per TAC §35.21. Fingerprints must be submitted electronically with IdentoGO, unless the applicant qualifies for the Alternative Fingerprint Process. The email will contain a link and your UE ID number.

How do I get fingerprinted? Fingerprinting services are provided through IdentoGO by IDEMIA, for a fee payable directly to the vendor. Results of the fingerprinting will be sent directly to the TxDMV from both the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
